Creating a trading account
Updated Jul 8, 20263 min read
A trading account is the container for your trades. You import into it, journal against it, and see its analytics. Create one before importing anything.
Create an account
Open Trading Accounts from the sidebar and click New Account. The form has these fields:
- Account Name— required (e.g. “FTMO Challenge 100k”).
- Platform — choose No specific platform, MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, cTrader, Tradovate or NinjaTrader. You can keep it generic; for other platforms use Custom CSV at import time.
- Timezone — required; defaults to Europe/Rome.
- Base Currency — required; USD, EUR, GBP or JPY.
- Starting Balance — required; the balance the account started from.
- Include fees in account metrics — on by default. When enabled, the dashboard and analytics use net result (PnL minus fees); when disabled they use gross PnL.
Managing accounts
From the Trading Accounts list, each account lets you:
- Jump to Add Trades, Cash Flows, Journal and Analytics.
- Edit any field.
- Hide (archive) an account so it disappears from the Journal, Analytics and Simulator dropdowns; you can show it again later.
- Delete it — but only if it has no trades.
Plan limit
The Free plan allows 1 trading account. Pro and Analyst allow unlimited accounts. The limit counts hidden accounts too.Ready to try it yourself?
